Self-actualization theory, proposed by Abraham Maslow, is a psychological theory that explains the hierarchy of needs of human beings. The theory suggests that people have five basic needs that they strive to fulfill, and that these needs are arranged in a hierarchy. The needs at the bottom of the hierarchy must be satisfied before those at the top can be addressed. Self-actualization is at the top of the hierarchy and is considered the ultimate goal of human life. The fourth level of the hierarchy is esteem needs, which include the need for self-respect, recognition, and status. Once a person feels loved and accepted by others, they focus on achieving a sense of self-esteem and self-worth.

The fifth and final level of the hierarchy is self-actualization needs, which include the need for personal growth, creativity, and fulfillment. Once a person has achieved all the lower-level needs, they can focus on fulfilling their potential and achieving their goals.
